Introduction
This guide shows you how to sort a table, choose which columns you see, make columns wider or narrower and change the row spacing. Column lists and column widths work the same way on the Inventory, Orders, Purchase Orders and Activity tables. Row spacing works the same way on Orders, Purchase Orders and Activity, and Inventory has its own layout choices (see Step 9). Most examples below use the Orders page (Delivery > Orders).
The numbers in brackets, like (1), match the numbered markers in the screenshots.
Step 1: Sort by a Column
Click a column header to sort by it, for example ORDER TOTAL (1) on the Orders page. You may need to scroll the table to the right to find it.
- For amounts like ORDER TOTAL, the first click sorts from highest to lowest (down arrow). For text columns like EVENT NAME, the first click sorts A to Z (up arrow).
- Click again to reverse the order.
- Click a third time to remove that sort.
The small blue number shows the sort order. The column you sort first shows 1, and ORDER DATE/TIME shows 2 because it's used to break ties. On Orders and Purchase Orders, if you click another column, it's added as the next number instead of replacing the first sort. To sort by a different column only, first click the current one until its arrow disappears.
Tip: On Inventory and Activity you sort by one column at a time: clicking another header replaces the sort, and no numbers show. On Inventory, the listings under each event are re-sorted, but events stay in date order. To see the latest events first, click Soonest first above the table. It changes to Latest first.
Tip: On Inventory, some cells show two fields, for example SECTION shows the section and row with the seats below (see Step 9). To sort by the second field, click the small + button in the filter row under the header, then click Sort ascending or Sort descending.
Tip: Some columns can't be sorted, such as RETAIL PRICE and EXTERNAL TAGS on Orders. Clicking their header does nothing.
Step 2: Open the Column List
Click the Columns icon (1) in the toolbar at the top right of the table. It sits between View: No view and the Density and Export icons. When you point to it, it shows Columns.
Step 3: Hide a Column
In the COLUMNS list, untick a column to hide it. In this example, unticking Origin (1) removes the ORIGIN column from the table straight away. MARKETPLACE is now followed by MARKETPLACE ORDER ID.
Tip: Some columns can't be hidden. Their boxes are greyed out, such as Status and Actions on Inventory and Record on Activity.
Step 4: Scroll Right to the Actions Column
Close the list (click outside it or press Esc) and scroll the table all the way to the right. The last column, Actions, has no heading. On orders with a Pending delivery status, it holds the check-mark icon (Fulfill Order) (1).
Tip: If you don't see the Actions column on Orders, scroll the table all the way to the right. If it still isn't there, tick Actions in the column list (the Columns icon at the top right of the table).
Step 5: Show Hidden Columns Again
To show one hidden column again, tick it in the COLUMNS list. To undo all your column changes, click the Columns icon again, then click Reset to default (1) at the top of the list. The standard columns come back: here the ORIGIN column (2) returns.
Tip: Some columns start hidden. For example, on Inventory, Face Value is hidden until you tick it.
Tip: On Orders and Activity, hidden columns are left out of CSV exports. The Inventory export always includes all of its columns, even the ones you've hidden, such as Face Value (see How to Export Your Data to a CSV File).
Step 6: Make a Column Wider or Narrower
Point at the right edge of a column header until a blue line appears (1). Then drag it left or right to resize the column.
Step 7: Change Row Spacing
Click the Density icon, next to the Columns icon at the top right of the table. When you point to it, it shows the spacing you're using, for example Density: Normal. Choose Compact (1), Normal or Comfortable. Normal is the default. The option you're using has a check mark.
Step 8: Check the Result
The table updates straight away. Compact fits more rows on the screen. Here all 14 orders fit without scrolling. To change the spacing again, click the Density icon (1).
⚠️Important: SeatHQ remembers the columns you choose and their widths, so they're still there the next time you open the page in this browser, even after you log out. Your sorting stays in place while you're logged in. On Orders, Purchase Orders and Activity, row spacing isn't saved: it goes back to Normal when you reload the page. Inventory keeps the layout you choose (see Step 9).
Tip: To save a table layout and bring it back in one click, see How to Save, Apply and Reset Table Views.
Step 9: Change the Inventory Layout
On Inventory, the Density icon also changes how the table is laid out. When you point to it, it shows the layout you're using, for example Density: Grouped. Click it and choose:
- Grouped (1), the default: related fields share a cell, on two lines. SECTION shows the section and row with the seats below, LIST $ shows the list price with the Basis (your cost per ticket) below, and DELIVERY shows the delivery method with On hand or the available date below.
- Comfortable (2): grouped, with more space between rows.
- Compact (3): one value per column, with the tightest rows.
The layout you're using has a check mark.
Step 10: Check the Inventory Layout
In Compact, each field has its own column again, for example ROW (2) and SEATS (3) next to SECTION, COST next to LIST $, and AVAILABLE DATE further right. To go back, click the Density icon (1) and choose Grouped.
Tip: Inventory keeps the layout you choose, even when you reload the page. Each event keeps its own row above its listings in every layout.

Do these settings change anything for other people?
