Introduction
When you publish a listing, SeatHQ sends it to resale marketplaces for you, so you don't have to list your tickets on each marketplace yourself. This guide shows you how to check that a listing is published, how to publish it if it isn't, how to see which marketplaces it goes to, and how to open your event on a marketplace.
The numbers in brackets, like (1), match the numbered markers in the screenshots.
Step 1: Check Whether Your Listing Is Published
On Inventory, look at the STATUS column.
- A green dot (1) means the listing is published and SeatHQ is sending it to marketplaces.
- A grey dot (2) means the listing is unpublished, so buyers can't see it.
Step 2: Open the Menu of an Unpublished Listing
To publish a listing with a grey dot, click the three-dot menu (⋮) at the far right of its row (1).
Step 3: Click Publish
Under AVAILABILITY, click Publish (1).
Tip: You can also publish a listing when you add tickets by choosing Publish to Marketplaces (see How to Add Tickets to Your Inventory).
Step 4: Confirm the Listing Is Published
The dot in STATUS turns green (1), and a 1 listing published message appears at the top of the page (2).
Tip: To take a listing off the marketplaces, click ⋮ > Unpublish. The dot turns grey.
Step 5: See Which Marketplaces the Listing Goes To
Find the MARKETPLACES column. If you don't see it, scroll the table to the right.
- A green ALL pill (1) means the listing goes to every marketplace.
- If you removed the listing from some marketplaces, you see the short names of the marketplaces it still goes to instead, for example SH, VS and SG.
- If a listing goes to more than three marketplaces, you see three short names and + the number of other marketplaces, for example +10. To see the full list, click ⋮ > Edit listing and open Marketplace distribution.
- A dash means the listing has been removed from every marketplace.
Tip: To remove a listing from some marketplaces, see How to Choose Which Marketplaces a Listing Goes To.
Step 6: Open the Marketplace List
- Click ⋮ on a published listing.
- Under VIEW, click View in Marketplace (1).
A list of marketplaces opens below it, here StubHub, Vivid Seats, Ticketmaster, SeatGeek and Viagogo.
Step 7: Open Your Event on a Marketplace
Click a marketplace name to open your event on that marketplace's website in a new tab.
If a name is greyed out, the event isn't available on that marketplace yet. In this example every name is greyed out. Point to a name (1) to see why, for example This event is not available on SeatGeek.
Tip: If pointing to a name shows Marketplace links could not be loaded, close the menu and open it again.
Step 8: Allow a Few Minutes
On average, listings take 2 to 10 minutes to appear on marketplaces after you publish them.
⚠️Important: Your listing may not appear on every marketplace. It depends on the event and on each marketplace's rules.
⚠️Important: Some marketplaces may require face value before certain listings can appear.
Best Practices
- Add every required disclosure to your listing: viewing restrictions (such as an obstructed view), ADA accessibility, and other restrictions such as age (21+).
- Add these disclosures as external tags. An external tag triggers the correct disclosure or attribute on the marketplaces.
- Check the STATUS dot on Inventory after you publish to make sure it's green.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to list on each marketplace myself?
No. SeatHQ sends your published listing to the marketplaces for you.
Which marketplaces can my tickets go to?
StubHub, Vivid Seats, Viagogo, SeatGeek, TickPick, Ticketmaster, AXS, Gametime, GoTickets, Victory Live, SI Tickets, TicketNetwork, Gigsberg, Ticombo and TixStock.
My listing shows ALL under MARKETPLACES but has a grey dot. Is it listed?
No. MARKETPLACES shows where the listing will go. The STATUS dot shows whether it is published. Publish the listing (⋮ > Publish) so it goes out.
Why does View in Marketplace show only a few marketplaces?
View in Marketplace links to StubHub, Vivid Seats, Ticketmaster, SeatGeek and Viagogo, and only shows the ones your listing goes to. Your listing still goes to every other marketplace that is ticked in Marketplace distribution. If your listing goes to none of these five, View in Marketplace is greyed out.
How long until my listing shows on a marketplace?
2 to 10 minutes on average. If it still doesn't appear, check that the dot is green and that the marketplace is listed under MARKETPLACES, then contact support@seathq.com.
